Welcome to Michelle’s Caring Cat Sitting Services =^.^=

I am a lifelong cat mom, having at least one cat ever since I was a child. My obsession with cats and the joy of helping others inspired the concept of providing cat sitting services to cat parents, while they’re away on vacation or if a helping hand with cat care is needed often.

Rabbits also need a professional sitter! My continued education expanded to rabbit care including Enrichment for Small Mammals and Rabbit & Pocket Pet First Aid and Care for Pet-Care Professionals.

My services include daily drop-in visits to your home where I check in on your cats and rabbits and ensure their food and water are refilled, litter is cleaned, any fresh messes are cleaned up, medication administered if required and they enjoy some playtime, cuddles and pets! You’ll also receive an update from each visit with photos/videos so you can see your kitties and bunnies while you’re away and stay informed of your cat or rabbit’s behaviour, eating, drinking and litter box activity.

My experience with cat and rabbit care includes following specific feeding requirements, litter box scooping and thorough litter box cleaning, litter pen refreshing, cleanup of dry and wet messes, administering pill or liquid medication, ear gels, eye drops as well as subcutaneous fluids and insulin.

I am a Certified Professional Pet Sitter®Fear Free Certified Professional and certified in Feline CPR and Emergency First Aid through Feline Health Canada/International as well as Pet First Aid through Walks N’ Wags. I am also a member of Pet Sitters International and insured and bonded through PROfur.

Recently I attended Pet Sitter World 2024, an annual gathering hosted by Pet Sitters International providing Professional Pet Sitters the opportunity to connect and enhance their knowledge in the pet care industry through seminars, networking and discussions.

During the conference I had the incredible opportunity of participating in the panel discussion covering scheduling and safety and provided my insight from a solo sitter perspective! Check out the video 🙂

Previous experience working in pet care includes receptionist at a veterinary clinic where I gained valuable knowledge in pet health as well as sales associate in pet retail assisting pet parents with their purchases for their four-legged family members.

Supporting the Ottawa cat community is another passion of mine. November 2023 I began volunteering with Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue, participating in fundraising events to help raise awareness of the kitties in need of a furever home.

Q Do you offer a litter cleaning service outside of cat sitting?

Whether you need a basic litter cleaning (scooping) on a regular basis or just need help with replacing the old litter with fresh litter, I can help!

On my website Contact page please select Litter Cleaning Service Only from the dropdown in the form then provide details in the space provided regarding frequency of litter box scooping or thorough cleaning (empty and refresh), number of litter boxes, if cleaning supplies will be provided, etc. and I will follow up with pricing.

Q How soon will I hear back from you after I submit my booking request?

I will respond to your inquiry within two business days.

Q When do we schedule the meet and greet after booking is confirmed?

I schedule a complimentary meet and greet with each new client two weeks to a month before the first scheduled visit. During the meet and greet we will do a quick tour of the home, review your cat or rabbit’s routine as well as my service agreement and spend some time with your kitties and bunnies.

Is your kitty or bunny a bit shy? We can schedule an extra meet and greet to get him or her more comfortable with their new sitter! Pricing for the extra meet and greet would be equivalent to one drop-in visit.

Q What will I need for the meet and greet?

Do your kitties or bunnies get startled by the sound of the doorbell or knocking on the door? I will text or call when I am on my way to the meet and greet! Just let me know which option you prefer 🙂

Will your cat(s) or rabbit(s) require medication during my visits? We can schedule the meet and greet at the time they normally receive their medication for me to observe the routine kitty or bunny is used to. *If medication is normally given before 8:30 am or after 8 pm we can review the medication routine with kitty or bunny present and I will follow the instructions provided in the service agreement during the visits.

Copy of your key, or your door code. If you live in a building and not able to provide copies of keys we can arrange pick up or drop off (fee may apply for key pick up/return).
